Southeast Alabama Community Theatre
Southeast Alabama Community Theatre -- The Theatre Company began in 1974 when a group of spirited individuals had a "Vision" for a more cultural minded community. The group went to the bank and borrowed two hundred dollars. They held auditions and rehearsals in churches and even barns! The first performance that year was "The Unsinkable Molly Brown." In the years since, SEACT has grown to include hundreds of subscribers and sponsors and produces three to four major productions a year.
In addition to our major shows, we also make possible other theatrical performances, including the Birmingham Childrens Theatre Shows. We also sponsor a childrens theatre camp in the summer for up and coming thespians. We provide fall and winter theatre classes, then summer theatre camp in the summer. We've come a long way in thirty one years, and we're not resting yet. Stay tuned to see how we grow in the 2009-2010 seaons, and beyond.
