YELLAWOOD JOHNNY MACK BROWN WESTERN FESTIVAL Landmark Park May 9 * 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Celebrate the Old West, Wiregrass style. Featuring movies and memorabilia of the late Dothan native and Western film star Johnny Mack Brown. Event includes shooting demonstrations, roping shows, reenactments, a chuck wagon cookoff, music and more. Barn dance with food and music held at the Stokes Activity Barn on May 8. Advance tickets required for barn dance. Adults, $8; senior citizens, $6; children, $4; members, free.

Enjoy the Wiregrass Youth Symphony Orchestra playing selected pop and classical pieces for full orchestra, and the Philharmonia Group playing selected pieces for string orchestra.

HEADLAND DAYLILY FESTIVAL Date & Time TBA
The Headland Chamber of Commerce sponsors the Daylily Festival each year in May or June. Daylilies are accepted for displayed at the Headland City and judging by the public with awards being given out by the Headland Garden Club.
During the day, the Wiregrass Daylily Society has daylilies on sale on the town square. A tour of gardens is available and usually includes Ric-A-Tee Gardens, Bush Gardens, Joe Ed & Marjorie Kirkland Gardens, Jim & Beverly Cole Gardens, and the Headland House with some of the gardens having a drawing for a prize. There is no admission fee for the tour.
