Our current city clerk is Crystal Gibson. The City Clerk has many duties within City government. Working directly with the Mayor and City Council, the clerk acts as the secretary of the governing body; preparing meeting agendas, attending all meetings of the governing body and preparing minutes of each meeting. The Clerk is custodian of all the minutes, books, deeds, bonds, contracts, ordinances, resolutions and archival records. Other responsibilities of the City Clerk are business license, building permits, zoning requirements, and human resource issues. Every four years the Clerk serves as the chief administrative officer in all elections held in the municipality. Of all these jobs and responsibilities the greatest for any City Clerk is to serve the public.
