National Peanut Festival Fairgrounds - Depending on calendar, last weekend in October to 2nd weekend in November. Main event schedules usually cover about 10 days, although some activities such as pageants occur 4-6 weeks prior to the main event schedule. The nation's largest peanut festival is held each fall to honor peanut growers and to celebrate the harvest season.
The fairgrounds are located on Highway 231 South -- just three miles south of the Ross Clark Circle. The festivities include numerous fun-filled family events, such as amusement rides, animal acts, agricultural displays, live music concerts, beauty pageants, arts & crafts displays, contests, food, a two-hour parade, of course, tons of peanuts! Enjoy an evening of fun music, with the Tri-State Community Orchestra. The Baptist College of Florida Women's Ensemble will perform with the TCO conducted by Buford Cox and accompanied by Dr. Angela Glover. The Wiregrass Youth Symphony Orchestra will perform conducted by Sarah Szopinski. Julia Martin, TCO principal Cellist, will perform the Edward Elgar Cello Concerto, Op. 85.
